With Avatar hitting Blu-ray and DVD on Thursday, the Los Angeles Times talked to James Cameron about the highest-grossing movie of all time (it’s at $2.717 billion now). In the interview, Cameron revealed that the Avatar sequel will focus on the ocean of Pandora while they’ll explore more of the Alpha Centauri AB system in a third film. Here’s an excerpt:

We created a broad canvas for the environment of film. That’s not just on Pandora, but throughout the Alpha Centauri AB system. And we expand out across that system and incorporate more into the story – not necessarily in the second film, but more toward a third film. I’ve already announced this, so I might as well say it: Part of my focus in the second film is in creating a different environment – a different setting within Pandora. And I’m going to be focusing on the ocean on Pandora, which will be equally rich and diverse and crazy and imaginative, but it just won’t be a rain forest. I’m not saying we won’t see what we’ve already seen; we’ll see more of that as well.

While Thursday’s release doesn’t have any features, Cameron says that we’ll get an additional six minutes in theaters for a re-release of the film in August before a 4-Disc Blu-ray/DVD set hits stores in November:

We’re working on finishing an additional six minutes of the film — which includes a lot of Weta work — for a theatrical re-release in August. We were sold out of our IMAX performances right up to the moment until they were contractually obligated to switch to “Alice in Wonderland,” so we know we left money on the table there. And the 3-D really helped “Avatar” right up until the moment that it hurt it. And it hurt it at the moment “Alice” and then “How to Train Your Dragon” and “Clash of the Titans” came in and sucked up all the 3-D screens. We went from declining 8% a week to declining 50%. Clearly, it wasn’t market forces directly; it was the availability of theaters. So we’re going to wait until there’s a time to come back in, inject the new footage into the mix and see if we can interest people in the “Avatar” experience in theaters.

“Nobody’s perfect”, a saying that majority of us people know. Along with the saying, there goes the reality that if nobody’s perfect, then everyone makes mistakes. Because as what they say, life is unpredictable, anything could just happen; it might be a success or a mess.
Difficulties are just part of our daily lives, and human as I am, I do have my own distresses too. There goes the financial problem and of course the pressure pressing us down in school, having constant lack of sleep, nose bleeding exams, rushing late night work, and struggling minds. But what’s good about it is that we gain friendships, die hard friendships. In order to overcome these difficulties, you have to be strong, with hope and faith in God. He has purpose about everything. It’s because He wants to take out the best in us. So don’t take life so seriously, always find time to smile, it will not only add years to your life, but will also add life to your years.
I’ve come to remember what I’ve read that life is an undying cycle. It’s a battle of survival, if you quit then you’re a loser, if you fall you should stand up; If you keep complaining about the miseries in life, nothing will happen. God will not throw stones you cannot catch. So live with Him, and overcome life.

The first GI Joe isn’t released yet but it seems it doesn’t hinder the studios from planning a movie sequel to GI Joe. Yep, there is a GI Joe 2 movie ahead of us. Well, the news comes from Director Stephen Sommers who told that he and his team were booked for the sequel for Summer 2010.

The first movie is having some bad buzz online. But I guess it won’t hinder GI Joe from being a blockbuster: lots of action, plenty of special effects, and the whole thing based on a famous franchise, you bet people are going to watch it in theaters.

So not so surprising to hear so early about the movie GI Joe 2. From the tidbits we know,the first GI Joe really is about the rise of Cobra Commander (Joseph Gordon-Levitt): at the beginning he was just the doctor, working for Destro (Christopher Eccleston).

but at the end, Destro can but step down and let the Doctor be the boss, and he becomes the real Cobra Commander we know.

So I really feel that the best with the GI Joe movie series is ahead. In the movie GI Joe 2 we may expect the Machiavellian Cobra Commander to try like hell to conquer the whole Earth.

Five Things to Expect When ‘Chuck’ Returns in March

It’s only been a little over a week since we last saw Chuck but it seems like forever already. We still have the rest of February to wait for Team Bartowski’s return so in the meantime, here are five things to look forward to on the spy dramedy post-Olympics.

Thanks to SpoilerTV and ChuckTV.net, several spoilers have been released about the upcoming episodes of Chuck. These spoilers, however, are a bit vague so feel free to guess and speculate which characters the spoilers are referring to.

1. The show goes international again.

We rarely see Chuck out of California so seeing him out of the country will be a refreshing change. Maybe he can finally go see Paris like he always wanted. Perhaps embark on an exotic adventure in Africa or some Asian county?

2. A feint and a double-cross keep our heroes on their toes.

Right now, I can only think of two possible contenders for this description: Hannah or Shaw. Though there’s nothing alarming about Hannah at this point, it’s really hard to trust anyone on this show. Shaw, on the other hand, is just as mysterious and seeing him at the end of “Chuck Versus the Mask” established my suspicions even more.

3. Someone seeks a career change; someone else gets one.

As reported in this Chuck spoiler article, Casey will do something really bad that could cost him his job in the episode “Chuck vs. the Tic Tac” which will feature a Casey-centric storyline which involves the arrival of Colonel Keller. While my money’s on Casey, I’m not really sure what kind of new career he might pursue. He’s already posing as a Buy More employee so maybe that’s where he’s heading?

4. A pair of related deaths will have major repercussions.

Though death is no stranger to Chuck, I don’t think Chuck is the kind of show that will make a bold move and kill off any major characters. Usually, it’s a minor recurring character or a guest star, and at this point, Hannah and Shaw are the only ones around who are dispensable. Then again, I don’t think the show will pull the plug on them both at the same time.

5. The pasts of two characters come back to haunt them. Subway is a place of comfort for one.

There are still plenty of things we don’t know about Shaw so he seems like a plausible candidate for a flashback episode. Plus, we all know that Casey will be encountering someone from his past in the form of Robert Patrick.
